In this case we also suggested a repaint of areas of the frontage. The client was happy with the price, and we started the production and fitting process.

A few days later the Shopjacket was ready to be installed. We'd arranged for the painting work to be carried out, and cleaned and prepared the shopfront ready to accept the finished panels.

The panels were fitted, and in less than a week from first contact an eyesore had been transformed in to a unit that was stopping the public in the street.

Feedback from neighbouring businesses was overwhelmingly positive, especially the business owner opposite who not only expressed her pleasure that her outlook had improved, but said that it had made her think about the design of her own shop! Shopjacket is a great way to raise design awareness.

Case Study - Spanish City

A landmark building was undergoing a renovation for it's centenary, the aim was to inspire developers and excite the public to the possibilities of this iconic structure.

The local authority wanted to inform people about the progress they were making restoring this fantastic building to it's former glory.

Shopjacket were approached whilst the building was still hidden beneath scaffolding, restoration work was almost complete to the exterior. A Shopjacket seemed to be the ideal way of letting developers know that the inside was now available for development opportunities, and to let the public know that exciting things were happening with this once landmark building.

We started by producing mock ups, showing the scaffolding being removed in stages to reveal the restored exterior with the addition of our Shopjacket panels. On the strength of these visualisations, we were given the go ahead.

The treatment was revealed in two stages. First, as the scaffolding was removed from the upper half, curtained windows were revealed in the upper windows, evoking the grandure of Spanish City's heyday. The second stage involved us working with the building contractor to extend the existing hoarding around the base of the building, and then applying a 25 metre long Shopjacket showing the restored lower floors with a custom drawn restaurant space. We also produced six large panels featuring images of attractions in North Tyneside in the style of 1950s railway posters.

The response was fantastic. Once the treatment was complete, the building was opened to the public for an exhibition about the buildings past and future. Originally planned for just one weekend, the opening was extended to three weeks, such was the public interest.
